GLAD-SORB "Quality Products for Cleaner Environment"
Glad-SorbTM is a non-toxic, non-biodegradable adsorbent, made from light gray rice hull ash, so it is environmentally safe to use in containing and cleaning up liquid spills. Glad-Sorb is also very effective in stabilizing liquid hazardous waste. Normally only 2 to 3 pounds of Glad-Sorb per gallon of liquid is needed to pass the paint filter test, compared to 10 to 12 pounds of clay-based absorbents. Glad-Sorb has no odor and in a distilled water slurry, has a pH of 10. One gram of Glad-Sorb has an approximate surface area of up to 15 square meters. Glad-Sorb is approximately 97% biogenic amorphous silica, 1% partially bound carbon and 2% partially bound minerals.
Glad-Sorb is a useful tool when kept in laboratories or on emergency vehicles or settings where unexpected and/or unknown liquids can spill. This product is non-selective and can rapidly absorb several times its own weight. Benefits
